How and When to reach Sabarmati Ashram?
Gandhi Ashram is connected with Railway station, Bus Station and Airport. Following is the distance matrix:
Ashram opens daily from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM. There is no entry fee but if you are visiting for a school tour or large group informing in advance is advisable.
Tour time and what is the best time to visit?
Total tour time would hardly take an hour. Ashram has a bookstore where you can purchase books written by or on Gandhi. It also has archives that show the journey of Gandhi from his birth to Africa to Indian independence. It covers some important quarter stones of his life. Then there is the Ashram where he used to stay.
The best time to visit would be either in morning or evening. I would suggest evening especially to see the sunset from Sabarmati Ashram.
