Brief about Rani no Hajiro

Rani no Hajiro, also known as Mughalai Bibi’s Tomb or Tombs of Ahmed Shah’s Queens is a tomb. The tomb is located near Manek Chowk Ahmedabad. It is just in front of Ahmed Shah’s Tomb . The area surrounding the complex is now a market for women’s clothing, jewelry and accessories. Many types of mouth fresheners, Mukhwas, stalls are nearby.

Rani no Hajiro History

Built in 1445. An enclosure is high above the ground. The walls of the cloister are fitted with carved stone screens. The principal tomb belongs to Mughalai Bibi, the wife of Muhammad Shah II and mother of Mahmud Begada.


How to reach Rani no Hajiro?

There is no public transport that directly connects (The only reason, probably because the tomb is in a dense area of Ahmedabad. Even in afternoon there is much traffic, so walking is the fastest option).

It is 3 km (walking distance) from Ahmedabad Railway station and 1 km from the central bus station of Ahmedabad.

The tomb is beside of Manek Chowk: best place to eat in Ahmedabad and Manek Chowk Market. As a result is a great place for shopping and food.


Duration and best time to visit Rani no Hajiro

Total visit time will not take more than 15 mins. As far as best time, you can visit anytime. But to advise you prefer visiting in morning and evening. Basically due to temperature in afternoon.

I didn’t found anyone guiding the monument. Also, it wasn’t clean as Raja no Hajiro.
